Noisy Water Wine Tasting in Ruidoso, NM

Having lived in Carlsbad for most of our prison sentence here in southeast NM, Ruidoso has been our go-to spot for day trips and weekend get-a-ways! It’s a super cute town and has beautiful mountains and woods all around! Out of all the cool things you can do there, I have to suggest going to the Noisy Water Winery located on Sudderth St. in the middle of all the shops!

(Visiting Ruidoso? Check out my other posts for ideas on what to do!)

So here’s the deal with Noisy Water: Wine tasting is $5, and it includes samples from 3 different wines of your choice. Once you are finished with your three samples, they’ll offer you a free taste of Hatch Green Chili wine, if you are interested!

The shop has a really cozy setting, with a couple of bar tables and a wine bar with stools.  When I went with my friends, we were the only ones there, but I have been here before when it’s really busy. You’re best bet may be to go during a weekday around lunch time…you know, when responsible people are eating instead of drinking alcohol.

Now, as all you wine lovers out there know, what is wine without a little crackers and cheese??

Along with wine sampling, they also have cheese sampling.  They’ll let you sample as many cheeses as you want for free, but for $10 they’ll give you a plate with 4 kinds of cheese of your choice, as well as different kinds of crackers. In the middle of the plate, they drizzle cream cheese with a sort of blackberry-pepper sauce…it’s DELICIOUS!!!! The blackberry sauce is actually so good that my aunt bought some last time I was here…so it’s definitely worth trying for all you Hesitant Hester’s out there!  To help with the cost, my friends and I split the plate three ways, getting out for about $7.50/per person (which includes the wine and the cheese tray).

Directions:

This shop is located on 2342 Sudderth street.  If you are coming from Ruidoso Downs, it’s going to be on your right hand side not long after you pass Grace O’Malley’s, but before you get to the stop light. If you hit Starbucks…well you suck.

If you’re in Ruidoso I highly suggest stopping by Noisy Water’s to sample their wine and cheese! The ladies who worked in there were very friendly and the service was great! The location is within walking distance of all the main shops (in case you get tipsy!) So please stop by if you ever find yourself in these parts!

Cheers!

You guys don’t forget to leave me a comment!! Have you been to Noisy Water?? What was your favorite wine that everyone should try?? How about the cheese??

Until next time!
