A Visitor’s Guide to the South Rim Road of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park
Colorado is best known for being a place of incredible natural beauty – so it’s really no surprise that Colorado is home to four of the US National Parks: Rocky Mountain National Park, Great Sand Dunes National Park, Mesa Verde National Park, and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. I’ve been lucky enough to see three out of four of these gems, and while the RMNP is tough to compete with, I really did enjoy my visit to the subject of today’s post, the BCGNP. The Black Canyon is one of the lesser-visited National Parks (in the state and the country), which means you are not contending with the…

Colorado Bucket List: 8 Must-See Stops on The Million Dollar Highway
There are so many beautiful things to see and do in Colorado. I’ve spent a lot of time in this beloved state, and even I still have a Colorado Bucket List that’s over a page long! One thing I definitely recommend for everyone to put on their own Colorado Bucket List is the Million Dollar Highway…or as it’s more simply known, Highway 550 from Durango to Ouray. This highway covers an incredibly scenic and exceptionally beautiful stretch of mountains. You will say “Wow” more times than you can count, and you’ll stop and take pictures dozens of times along the way! It’s a perfect attraction to add to a multi-stop…

Top 10 Things to do in Ouray, CO
The Western Slope is my favorite part of Colorado…and that’s saying something because I really do love Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park!! The western slope is home to some of the prettiest scenery in Colorado, as well as several cute towns such as Pagosa Springs, Durango, Silverton, Telluride, and of course – Ouray. Ouray (pronounced your-ay) is similar in a lot of ways to my beloved Telluride. They’re both nestled in a box canyon, they both have gorgeous views of the San Juans, they both have the cutest little Main St. you’ve ever seen, and they both have rushing rivers going through them. While I love Telluride, I feel…

Hiking in Telluride, CO: The Galloping Goose Trail
I really love hiking (maybe y’all have picked up on that…I don’t know…). I love long and challenging hikes that have awesome views as a payoff for the hard work you put into it. However, sometimes I like a shorter, chill hike that’s level with no real incline – especially since I started hiking with my daughter in her carrier! If you can also appreciate these kinds of hiking trails, and you happen to be going to Telluride, CO, then I have just the hike for you – and you don’t even have to sacrifice amazing views! The Galloping Goose trail is a trail my mom and I found while…

The Ultimate Summer Bucket List for Telluride, CO
Telluride, Oh Telluride. If you have read any of my previous posts on Telluride, you may have picked up that I kind of have a thing for it. But really…who can blame me? If you haven’t been to Telluride, then I need you to pull up a calendar for next summer and start planning your trip right now! Telluride is my Number One mountain town in the whole state – and that’s saying something because, to be honest, I have been around! The snow-capped peaks of the San Juans are tough to compete against, as you can see in the below picture! For those of you who haven’t been, here’s a quick rundown…

Colorado Roadside Attraction: Denver’s Big Blue Bear
I’ve gotta say – I have a real love/hate relationship with Denver, Colorado. On one hand, it’s undeniable that Denver has the worst traffic in the entire state…period. On the other hand – well who cares about the other hand because the traffic is going to be horrible to get to whatever it is! Seriously though, this is the reason I’ve lived in Colorado Springs for three years and can count on one hand the number of times I’ve gone to hang out in Denver. Now to be fair, Denver has a lot of cool things to do. It has Museums, Street Art, The Rockies stadium, the State Capitol, the flagship REI store…

Hiking in Colorado: Eleven Mile Canyon’s Overlook Trail
I love Colorado Springs, but I won’t lie…sometimes I get bored of the same’ ol hiking areas that I’ve hiked a thousand times before. (*gasp*) I’m glad I got that off my chest! Don’t get me wrong, Colorado Springs has some really nice hiking areas! I mean come on, Garden of the Gods? North Cheyenne Canon?? Red Rock Open Space??? All classics in the Colorado Springs area. Even though they offer nice trails that are close to town, sometimes a girl’s just gotta get herself up into the mountains and find some adventure! One of the things I have recently gotten to cross off of my “Colorado Spring’s Adventure List”…

A Local’s List of the 9 Best Hiking Spots in Colorado Springs!
Hello everyone! I’m excited to write today’s post…one could say I’ve done a lot of research on it! I’ve lived here off and on for a total of 4.5 years, and even though I would never imply that I’ve “seen it all”, I most definitely have hiked my little heart out in and around most of Colorado Springs. Unfortunately, my hiking has been derailed a lot these past several months due to the record-breaking snowfall the state has received! I’m so excited that it’s now July and hiking season is fully upon us! While I may not be a Colorado native, I am definitely a Colorado Springs local, and I…

8 Photos That Will Make You Want to See Breckenridge in the Fall!
Fall is definitely the most wonderful time of the year! All of the other seasons pale in comparison. Let’s examine this for a second: Summer’s are great in their own way, of course. Spring I would call enticing, with its budding colors and promises of summer. Winter – well, winter sucks…but Fall?? Fall has the best of all worlds! The weather is still beautiful for outdoorsy adventures, the crowds are thinned out from everyone going back to school and work, and the fall colors in the Colorado Rocky Mountains are nothing short of miraculous! (Miraculous might be a bit strong…but I’m standing by it!) This past year was my third…

Hiking in Colorado Springs: Spruce Mountain Open Space
I’m not sure if you’ve picked up on this, but I pretty well love hiking and being outdoors! I also love having a three day work week because I can hike on weekdays and avoid the massive weekend crowd in the Springs! Weekend hiking around here is hardly a solo sport, so don’t count on having any trails to yourself! I wouldn’t be presumptive enough to say I’ve hiked everything worth hiking in the Colorado Springs area, but I will say that I’m pretty snobby about where I’ll go! One of my favorite places to hike is the Spruce Mountain Open Space near Larkspur! Spruce Mountain is a butte that lies just…
