Hiking in Colorado: Eleven Mile Canyon’s Overlook Trail
I love Colorado Springs, but I won’t lie…sometimes I get bored of the same’ ol hiking areas that I’ve hiked a thousand times before. (*gasp*) I’m glad I got that off my chest! Don’t get me wrong, Colorado Springs has some really nice hiking areas! I mean come on, Garden of the Gods? North Cheyenne Canon?? Red Rock Open Space??? All classics in the Colorado Springs area. Even though they offer nice trails that are close to town, sometimes a girl’s just gotta get herself up into the mountains and find some adventure! One of the things I have recently gotten to cross off of my “Colorado Spring’s Adventure List”…

Top Tips For Driving Colorado’s Skyline Drive!
When I was young and still in early elementary school, my family traveled with my Uncle’s family to Colorado. (Little did I know that I would be living there one day!) Honestly, I don’t remember a whole lot from the trip (youth really is wasted on the young isn’t it??), but I do remember everyone’s reaction to driving on Skyline Drive! Note, I said I remember everyone’s reaction…I didn’t even know we had done it until we were looking at souvenirs saying, “I Survived Skyline Drive!” I asked my mom what that was and she told me we had just done it. Between being pregnant and working the night shift last year, I really slacked on doing all the outdoor adventures I wanted to…but I’m making up for it! I’m so blessed that my little baby loves to be outdoors on the trail..she’s such an adventurer already!! Horsethief Falls is located in the Pike National Forest, just a little past the town of Divide. The forest in this area is a beautiful mix of Aspen and Evergreens, which…

Climb Daring Heights at Bishop’s Castle, CO
Ever since I moved a couple of weeks ago, I’ve spent most of my spare time driving all over the surrounding areas: Buena Vista, Salida, Woodland Park, Divide, Florissant, Cripple Creek, Eleven Mile Lake, Westcliffe…you name it, I’ve driven through it or close to it! However, even with all our driving we really didn’t do anything post-worthy until we visited Bishop’s Castle near Westcliffe, CO. I’d heard of Bishop’s Castle when I lived in the Springs several years ago. Bishop’s Castle is a nice little day trip from Colorado Springs (approximately a 1.5 hour drive), and is certainly an unusual and interesting place to visit! This castle has been entirely built by…
